Describe a country or foreign city you would love to visit in the future

If there is one destination that sits firmly at the very top of my travel bucket list, it is without question Iceland, specifically Reykjavik and the volcanic terrain along its southern coast. My fascination with this Nordic island nation was first ignited when I watched an environmental documentary about how the country relies almost entirely on geothermal energy to power its cities.

Geographically speaking, Iceland feels like another planet altogether. I have dreamed of driving along the Ring Road, where active volcanoes lie adjacent to ancient glaciers. I am particularly eager to witness the ethereal spectacle of the Aurora Borealis dancing across a pitch-black subarctic sky, as well as soaking in natural geothermal hot springs like the Blue Lagoon surrounded by snowfields. Exploring the obsidian black sands of Reynisfjara beach and walking between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates in Thingvellir National Park are also top priorities.

Ultimately, what draws me to Iceland is the rare chance to disconnect from our relentless digital routines and experience raw, primordial wilderness. It represents the antithesis of modern urban commercialism, and I am convinced that spending a couple of weeks traversing such a rugged landscape would offer an unforgettable, life-affirming perspective.
