Listen for Keywords
Before each section begins, you'll have time to read the questions. Use this time to underline keywords. This helps you anticipate the information you need to listen for.
Don't Lose Focus
If you miss an answer, don't panic. Move on to the next question immediately. You can come back to the missed question at the end if you have time, but don't risk missing more questions.
Understand the Format
The listening test gets progressively harder. Section 1 is a conversation in a social context, while Section 4 is a monologue on an academic subject. Be prepared for the change in pace and complexity.
Check Spelling and Grammar
At the end of the test, you have 10 minutes to transfer your answers to the answer sheet. Use this time wisely to check for spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, as they can cost you marks.
